Position: Research Scientist I

Education Requirements: Ph.D.

Years Experience: 3 years of academic or industry experience (industry preferred). Post-doc experience is OK.

Job Description/Key Responsibilities:
This person will be responsible for obtaining key experimental data at each milestone, including morphological, molecular and functional identification of PrimeCell’s stem cells in vitro, chronological mapping of gene expression at the single cell or population level that are the key molecular signatures of PrimeCell’s stem cells, improvement of culture conditions to expand stem cells, and will design experimentation to differentiate stem cells into specific phenotypes with potential for targeted cell replacement therapy. Research Scientist will also assess the safety of stem cells for clinical trials, including surface antigen compatibility, and engineer stem cells for culture in matrix and scaffolds to facilitate the survival and function of engrafted stem cells in animal models. He/She will participate in strategic discussions for PrimeCell’s research and present data at scientific meetings.

Requirements:
Expertise in the area of stem cell biology, molecular biology and/or stem cell engineering. PrimeCell Biotech will recruit a top performer from the Biotech Industry or Academia who will make immediate impact and contribution to the PrimeCell project.
Must be highly motivated, hard working, independent, intellectually curious, and a team player. Apply various specialized laboratory techniques and skills to plan, design, and conduct laboratory experiments with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to adapt or modify experimental methods to achieve objective. Must have the ability to handle a large amount of data, interpret results, and meet aggressive deadlines in fast paced environment. Strong working knowledge in Molecular Biology and Stem Cell Biology is absolutely required.
